MARTIN MCGINN
Martin McGinn (b. 1955, Gillingham, Kent) lives and works in London. He studied at the Royal College of Art, London (1978–81) and Bristol Polytechnic (1974–77). His work has been exhibited extensively across the UK and internationally.
Notable solo exhibitions include Forman’s Smokehouse Gallery, London (2015), Piper Gallery, London (2013), Saatchi Gallery, London (2002), Galerie Juoin, Zurich (2005, 2004), Govett Kerr, London (1998), and Muranushi / Lederman Gallery, New York (1992 & 1994), among many others.
Group exhibitions include Tate Liverpool (2002–03), Anthony D’Offay Gallery, London (2001), and numerous other national and international shows.
McGinn’s work is represented in several prestigious collections, including the Saatchi Collection, the Contemporary Art Society, the Moores Collection, the Government Art Collection, and the British Council.
He has also received major recognition, including the Bovis Architectural Prize (Royal Academy) and First Prize at EAST International, Norwich (1998).
In addition to his artistic practice, McGinn served as Curator for the Saatchi Gallery’s seminal exhibition “Sensation” (London, New York, Berlin).
