ACROSS

This body of work traces a visual dialogue between two landscapes I call home in different ways: South Africa and the American West.

Though separated by oceans, these geographies share quiet affinities—desert plateaus, ocean mists, fading signage, and the subtle traces of human presence.

Each photograph is an act of observation. A weathered billboard, a rock outcrop resisting the Pacific tide, or a crowd gathered at dusk—these moments are not staged but found, suspended between motion and memory. What draws me in is not spectacle, but the ordinary charged with time: the last glow of a neon sign, the shadows of distant mountains, the way a tree frames a city below.

Together, these images speak to a shared terrain of solitude and belonging. They are shaped by light, absence, and the endurance of place—echoes between continents that feel at once familiar and foreign. In this exhibition, I hope to invite viewers into that quiet space where comparison gives way to contemplation, and landscape becomes a form of autobiography.
